President’s Report

On June 27, 2012 by admin

Mr. Mario Palma, President of Philsutech for FY 2011-2012

“WORKING TOGETHER FOR TECHNOLOGY ADVANCEMENT TOWARDS PRODUCTIVITY, COST EFFECTIVENESS AND QUALITY” – a fitting theme for the 59th Philsutech Annual National Convention to be held at the Waterfront Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City this coming August 20- 24, 2012. This is a call for everyone involved in the sugar industry, either directly or indirectly, to unite and put our acts together so we can become a strong force to fight and survive the threats of global competition, free trade and ill effects of the climate change. This had been our call and it still is. Until and unless the threat becomes real and we survive it, we cannot let dis-unity and complacency to set in. We must remain vigilant and ready to spring into action to prevent the death of the sugar industry in the Philippines. WE MUST INNOVATE.

As the biggest gathering of sugar industry leaders, technologists, providers and practitioners, this year’s Convention will again serve as the venue for sharing experiences and technologies, for addressing current and future issues, and renewing our bonds and commitments to the industry. Hence, your Board and this year’s Convention Organizers have started early in the planning and preparations to ensure a successful and more meaningful convention.
