PHILSUTECH sponsors three scholars
In line with its long-running scholarship program, PHILSUTECH recently accepted three new scholars starting this Second Semester of School Year 2014-2015 at the Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod. The three scholars were selected from among qualified Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Chemistry students of the said school.
The new scholars are Marissa Elizabeth Gallenero, 3rd year BS Chemistry student, daughter of a farm worker at Hda. La Consolacion, Guinhalaran, Silay City; Jarjolen Jamora, 3rd year BS Chemical Engineering student, son of a former farm worker at Hda. Consolacion, Guinhalaran, Silay City; and Wilmark Palacios, 3rd year BS Chemical Engineering student, son of a deceased former overseer of a hacienda in Isabela, Negros Occidental.
The applicants were screened and recommended by a committee headed by Dr. Felicidad N. Altalaguire, Dean, College of Engineering of Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod, duly reviewed by the PHILSUTECH Committee on Academe composed of Jinah Cuenca, Edna Tatel and Aurora Porras and approved by the PHILSUTECH Board.
The scholarship shall cover the review and board exam period. Upon graduation and passing of the Board exam, the scholars will be assisted by PHILSUTECH in securing employment with a member company of PHILSUTECH. PHILSUTECH will extend free tuition, miscellaneous expenses, other school fees and book allowance to the beneficiaries and they shall also be given financial assistance for the review and board examination in the amount to be set by PHILSUTECH. Scholar should maintain a general weighted average of 85% with no failing grade in any subject.
They should behave in a manner befitting his/her status as a scholar and should comply with all school rules and regulations. Scholar should see to it that his/her report card is properly noted by his/her guardian and submitted to PHILSUTECH. Scholar must pass the licensure examination conducted by the Professional Regulatory Commission for engineers and chemists. In the event that the scholar gets employed by a PHILSUTECH member-company, the scholar should abide with the company’s Code of Conduct and Rules and Regulations.
They shall also attend PHILSUTECH-sponsored programs intended to enhance their academic and professional preparation.
